The Annual Spring City-Wide Clean-Up Day has been set for Saturday, April 30 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Lamar Public Works crews will visit neighborhoods one time picking up curbside items and must be placed for pick up no later than 7:00 am. Items must be separated and liquids labeled. If guidelines are not followed, items will not be picked up and will be subject to code enforcement.
Accepted items include latex/oil base paint, tires, wood, white goods (refrigerators, freezers, washer, dryers, eWaste).
Tree limbs & yard waste (limbs must be bundled and are limited to size 2” diameter x 4 feet, maximum 30 lbs. Leaves must be bagged).
Lead acid batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, pesticides (only household and/or herbicides), poison (only household hazardous waste, cleaners, solvents, rodent control) and liquids (must be labeled with the identity of the liquid) must be delivered to the Fire Department. Used oil/antifreeze must be delivered to the Publics Works office at 103 N 2nd Street.
Items that will NOT be accepted are demolition debris/asbestos, junk vehicles, burn barrels, loose piles of trash.
“The City’s semi-annual clean-up days have been extremely successful in cleaning up junk and debris that otherwise creates an eye-sore and nuisance in our neighborhoods. The participation and cooperation of our neighbors in making these clean ups successful has been just terrific! We need and welcome volunteer participation to get the clean-up done. We celebrate afterwards with a picnic in the park. Please join us!” said City Administrator John Sutherland.
